According to 2011 Census, Pictou County had a population of 45,643 and it is considered to be the sixth largest county in Nova Scotia. There are five large towns in Pictou County: New Glasgow (pop. 9562), Stellarton (pop. 4485), Pictou (pop. 3437), Westville (pop. 3798), and Trenton (pop. 2616).
